Description
When the Profinet firmware receives IP traffic and the internal IP processing is delayed for longer periods by e.g. filesystem access, the processing of Acyclic Profinet frames might also be delayed. As a result, the Profinet firmware may not react in time to other protocols including:
- Profinet Alarms
- Profinet Synchronization (PTCP)
- Profinet Media Redundancy (MRP)
This may lead to unexpected behavior of the Profinet communication up to connection abort.
The issue was found in the PSPNSV5 firmware but might occur with much smaller impact in PSPNSV4 firmwares as well.
