Description
The device is configured for DHCP/BOOTP and has been successfully assigned a valid IP address. ACD is turned OFF.
After a physical link down/up the device starts sending DHCP-DISCOVER (or BOOT REQUEST) frames, which is correct.
However, the IP address that was in use before the link down/up event is still in use and the device still communicates via this IP address (e.g. ICMP ping etc.), which is unexpected.
After a link down/up event, the IP address must be dropped in case DHCP/BOOTP is active. The device is required to obtain the IP from the DHCP/BOOTP server again.
Note: This behavior can cause an EtherNet/IP device to fail the conformance test.
