Account:[PNSV5] SPC Profinet Slave V5.8 (J250077) (J250077)
Description
A small section shall be added describing SNMP behavior.
Regarding SNMP Community Strings
- SNMP is enabled by default and uses hard coded and non-changeable community strings "private" and "public" (if Security Class 1 is not activated)
- if Security Class 1 is activated, the community strings can be changed via Profinet network
- Protocol stack does intentionally not offer API to modify the community strings
Regarding SNMP in general
- Protocol stack offers services to completely disable SNMP
- Protocol stack offers SecurityClass 1 which allows changing community strings via Profinet network as Profinet functionality (which allows same behavior for all Profinet devices, independent of the manufacturer)
- add statement about only very few supported writable objects
- link to chapter about Profinet Security in Protocol API Manual
- link to chapter of supported OIDs
- only SNMPv1 / v2c is supported by our implementation, SNMPv3 is not supported
