This prevents useful usage of Undefined Notify mechanisms.
In fact, the checks should never be implemented on indication receiver side. It is intentional not having to implement that on indication receiver side. One example for this is a seldomly updated read only object which gets only updated very occasionally. In this case, the application does not have to respond to every read instead it simply can update the object data as needed.
