Incompatibility with older netX 90 chips

The firmware will not be fully functional anymore with chip DateCode < 1910, i.e. NXHX-90 rev3 boards or previous, due to an update of the Operating System to eCos V2.1 and corresponding changes in the chip's ROM code.

This affects the firmware update mechanism: If a newer, incompatible firmware has been flashed to an older chip, no further firmware update is possible anymore using on-board mechanisms (Webserver, Mailbox). Loading a firmware over JTAG or FTDI JTAG (USB) will still be possible as a backdoor.

Future incompatibilities due to changed ROM code are to be expected for this firmware minor version, e.g. the handover of device keys from the ROM loader into the Protocol Stack will also require a more recent chip revision.

Anyway, please consider this incompatibility with older hardware and use up-to-date hardware with this fimrware release.
