Description
For connection of type "Change Of State" (COS) and "Application Object" (AO) the Production Inhibit Timer must be implemenented. The timer itself is responsible to reduce the network traffic to a minimum in case the host application triggers data production with a high frequency.
The Production Inhibit Timer is described in CIP Volume 1 Edition 3.22 in chapter 3-4.5.3 "Production Inhibit Timer"
Currently the host application can flood the network with IO frames (1ms to 2ms interval) althought the production inhibit time is set to e.g. 50ms. It's expected that IO frames are sent not faster than 50ms in that case.
