Update API headers and corresponding implementation

As cifX-API, as well as other headers like netXAPI.h, will be administered in a central repository, the locally used headers should be updated to the reference headers. Alternatively, this may also be achieved by additional externals to these reference headers.

Additionally, their usage in the project needs to be checked (function prototypes, data types etc.)
